The Alpha

Mikipage is in alpha. This page says what that means in practice — what runs on your behalf, what it costs you, and what is still rough.

Read this page as a temporary override. The rest of the docs — [1], [2], [3], [4] — describe how Mikipage works by design, and they stay the ground truth. Where this page disagrees with them, this page wins for as long as the alpha lasts. In particular: those pages say AI updates only happen when you ask for them, and during the alpha that is no longer the whole story — see below. This page goes away when the alpha does, and the others will be right again.

Your pages update themselves, and we pay for it

Every page is refreshed for you roughly every 6 hours, and it costs you nothing.

We run a sweep across every account four times a day. It walks your pages, looks at what has actually changed underneath them, and rewrites the ones that need it. You don't have to notice that a page has drifted, and you don't have to click Refresh to fix it.

Two things worth knowing:

  • It doesn't touch your AI credits. The sweep is sponsored — during the alpha we pay for it out of our own pocket, and it cannot bill your account. Your credit balance is for the work you ask for: a Refresh you click, a page you generate on the spot, chat.
  • It skips what hasn't changed. A page with no new or edited notes underneath it is left alone rather than rewritten for the sake of it. That is why a sweep is affordable to give away, and why it doesn't churn pages you've settled on.

So the honest version of "pages write themselves" is: they do, within about six hours. If you want a page current now — you've just dumped in a batch of notes and you want the page to catch up before you read it — clicking Refresh still does it immediately, and that one uses your credits. Ask an AI assistant over MCP instead and it uses your own AI subscription and no Mikipage credits at all ([1]).

What this means for a brand-new page

Create a page and it will look empty at first — a new page has nothing in it until AI has run over it once. You can wait for the next sweep, or click Refresh on the page to fill it in straight away. Either way you end up in the same place; the sweep is just the free, patient version.

What's still rough

  • The cadence is ours, not yours. You can't set your own schedule, pick a different frequency, or turn the sweep off. Per-account schedules are planned ([1]).
  • We're small. The sweep runs on our own hardware and is watched by hand. If it misses a window, your pages are stale a little longer — nothing is lost, and the next run picks it up.
  • Free doesn't scale forever. Sponsored refreshes are an alpha thing. When pricing settles, automatic updates will be part of that conversation, and we'll say so clearly before anything changes ([5]).
  • Expect the occasional glitch. Bugs, surprises, and rough edges are still likely. Telling us about them is the single most useful thing you can do right now.
